July 27-29, 2007: Tri-Cities Columbia Cup
The Miss Bardahl participated in the vintage hydroplane exhibition held during the 2007 Tri-Cities Columbia Cup in Pasco, WA. The boat ran during the test sessions and exhibition races on Friday and Saturday, and two exhibition races on Sunday. Articles covering the event can be found in the Publicity Section of this website. The boat ran flawlessly during all runs, reaching speeds of 140-150 MPH at the end of the straights (pulling 80-85" manifold pressure at 3,600-3,800 RPM).
Dixon Smith drove, with Skip Schott, Ryan Smith, and Jon Osterberg acting as the primary crew. Jon also went for a ride Friday afternoon. Miss Bardahl "won" both of the Sunday exhibition "races." This link is to a listing of the average lap speeds turned by the Miss Bardahl on the 2.5 mile Colulmbia River course (courtesy of Fred Farley).
