1962-65 Miss Bardahl's Successor

The cabover hull replaced the 1962-65 Miss Bardahl for the 1966 season. Although planned for use in the 1965 season, the custom V-drive gearboxes were not ready in time.

The cabover was a revolutionary design at the time by Ron Jones Sr. The core crew from the 1965 season continued to work on this hull, incorporating all learned with the previous boat.

The cabover Bardahl (and Ron Musson's) career came to an abrupt end on June 19, 1966 in a horrific crash during the President's Cup on the Potomac River, Washington D.C. It was the hull's second race.

Note that the replacement for the cabover, the 1967 Miss Bardahl was practically a line-for-line copy of the 1965 hull!
