A few weeks ago the entire hull was wet sanded and buffed to remove any runs from the clear coat. The hull looks absolutely stunning.
Dixon has completed the installation of the systems, including a mechanically actuated fire bottle and hand held cockpit fire extinguisher.
Dixon has also designed and built linkages for the mix and throttle. Since the mix handle in the cockpit is on the right side, but the mix control on the engine is on the left, a cross-over bar was installed on the floor of the engine compartment forward of the engine. This allows the cables to run down the right side with the throttle, but remain in the hull and out of the way while crossing over.
Both the mix and throttle have been designed to keep the cables in tension (thus the angled brackets and geometry shown in the pictures) as the cables can handle a high tensile stress than compressive.
Work continues on the seat and upholstery as well as shafting, rudder, etc. Detailed paintings for the cans on the rear cowl are in progress.
