In preparation for running the boat next month, flotation is added to the hull. Truck tire inner tubes have been placed in the bow and aft of the cockpit outside the stringers. This will provide enough flotation to float the metal in the boat, while the wood will float itself.

The flotation is only for a catastrophic event, such as loosing a propeller blade, that would put the boat in danger of sinking. Hopefully it will never have to be used.

The inner tubes were put in position and then inflated, thus holding themselves in place. The valve stems can be removed and the tubes deflated if removal is necessary.
