June 7, 2007 - Re-launch and Test Session (running exhibition)
After nearly 43 years, the 1962-65 Miss Bardahl "Green Dragon" returned to the water!
After last running in San Diego in October 1965, the boat was lifted out of the water by three crew members: Dixon Smith directing the crane, David Smith on the stern line, and Skip Schott on the bow line.
Almost 43 years later, the same three individuals returned the Green Dragon back into the water for the first time since San Diego, 1965!
The boat ran three times with Dixon driving on all three runs.
Brothers Dixon & David Smith take the boat out for the first run. Both were original crew members and key to the restoration. David previously rode in the boat in Madison, IN 1965.
David's ride was followed by Skip and then Ryan.
The boat ran wonderfully.
