October 4, 2008: Lake Chelan Test Session
The Miss Bardahl participated in an exhibition even on Lake Chelan in Chelan, WA. Organized by the Hydropolane & Raceboat Museum, the event featured the 1962-65 Miss Bardahl, 1955 Miss Thriftway, Hurricane, 1960 Miss Burien, 1975 Oh Boy! Oberto. The purpose of the event was to run the boats and give rides.
Several rides were given for those who have helped on the boat & restoration, and those purchased through benefit auctions.
- Pat Dunn
- Bob Dempster
- John Pugh: owner of Marine Hardware, helped out on the restoration.
- Bruce Kranak
- John Rheinberger: former Miss Budweiser crewman, helped during the restoration.
Miss Bardahl was first to trailer fire and first in the water. After giving five rides, the boat returned to the trailer for a prop change, refueling, and run through of the checklist.
One run was made to test a new propeller and a final run made to reposition back at the dock. The weekend went well, although the carburetor became sick towards the end, resulting in a stack fire.
