October 3, 2009 Lake Chelan Test Session
The Miss Bardahl participated in an exhibition even on Lake Chelan in Chelan, WA. Organized by the Hydroplane & Raceboat Museum, the event featured the 1962-65 Miss Bardahl, 1955 Miss Thriftway, 1975 Oh Boy! Oberto, 1967 Miss Budweiser, 1959 Miss Thriftway and Miss Wahoo. The purpose of the event was to run the boats and give rides.
Several rides were given for those who have helped on the boat & restoration, and those purchased through benefit auctions.
- Roger Kruse: Original Miss Bardahl crew member Roger Kruse goes for his fist ever ride in an unlimited hydroplane
- Paul Jablonski: Retired engineer and member of the Indianapolis branch of the Rolls-Royce Heritage Trust
- Mike Pronovost: retired Boeing test pilot
- Peter Evans: David's brother-in-law
- Mark Manchester: son of the late driver Rex Manchester
- Pat Gleason: APBA Region 10 Referee and volunteer
Additionally, David Smith took Miss Bardahl out for a solo run. David previously test drove the Notre Dame in the late 1960's, and previously rode in the Miss Bardahl with Ron Musson in 1965.
