December 22, 2003 - Hull Overview
All battens are in place, and fairing will begin next week, with decking starting very early next year.
All deck battens are in place, awaiting fairing early next week. Full length battens were scarfed together, and shorter battens cut to length. The battens were then sealed with Prolyene (clear coat UV protection sealing epoxy).
Before the battens were installed the fuel cell, ADI tank, and battery box were installed. Each slot in the frame that the batten would lay in was coated with thickened West Systems and the battens carefully placed. Then the battens were screwed down. This was done very carefully so as to prevent the battens from breaking! We then carefully cleaned up the excess glue, and let the glue cure.
