April 26, 2004
Work started back up a little over a week ago when Mike Hanson returned from Madison, IN. Since then, the cowls have been completely fitted to the boat. This includes the placement of nut-plates and drilling holes such that mounting can be accomplished easily in a reasonable amount of time.
Other smaller projects continue as well, such as deck hatches. The skid fin, back from the anodizer, has also been bolted in place. The primary runners will be put back in place later.
Following, the cowls and hull were primed and sanded several times. The hull is now ready for painting!
On Monday, April 26, the hull left Mike Jones' shop. The carpet on the trailer had previously been replaced as it had rotted over time. The hull was tied down using the rear strut and intermediate strut in the back, and the front turn-over structure in the front.
The hull is temporarily in Dixon's storage facility in Redmond, WA, and will be moved later in the week to a workshop in Redmond. Once this occurs, system installation will begin.
