Once the boat was completely painted - colors, lettering, and numbering - the whole thing was shot with clear coat. Not only will this help to protect the paint, but it also gives a lot of "depth" to the boat.
Once the clear was shot, the boat hung upside down for a week to let everything cure properly.
Because of timing, the bottom was not cleared. In the future, this will happen to help protect the aluminum skin on the bottom.
The tail is currently being painted separately in a smaller spray booth. The majority of the tail is paint. The only vinyl will be the detective, two cans of Bardahl, and the names on the cowl. All else is paint, including the little triangles on the back of the fin. Pictures of the cowl will be posted at a later date.
