Once the yellow cured, work began on the lettering. There is no vinyl on the hull - everything is painted. First, the clear coat on the yellow had to be prepared in order to paint over. When this was complete, the white shadow for the side lettering was sprayed, using a template to get the proper design. When the white had cured, it was prepared and the black sprayed on. This was accomplished using a template also. Finally, the whole product was cleared.
With all the yellow on the hull complete, as well as the side lettering, work began on the deck. The first step was to hang the boat upside-down. This prevents dust particles from becoming trapped in the paint. It also allows the painter to work on the whole deck without having to walk on it.
With the sides, transom, bottom, non-trips, cockpit, and engine bay carefully masked, the metallic green was shot on the deck. As this is a base coat/clear coat paint, when the base tacked up, the clear was shot.
All of the above was accomplished in one day.
